Welcome to a thoroughly jam packed weekend at Shira! We start Kabbalat Shabbat at 6.30pm with a musical tefilla - bring some instruments if you want to join in!
On Shabbat morning at 9.15am we have our regular shiur followed by shacharit at 9.45am. We are delighted to welcome a new member into our shul - a daughter born to Leon and Yael Steel, who will be receiving her name in shul in a Simchat Bat ceremony. We wish you both a mazal tov, and may you schep much nachas from your lovely new family member! It is also the batmitzvah anniversary of Aria Klein who will be leyning for us.
We are farewelling Jake Baum and Andrea Rogers and their gorgeous children Gilly and Ruby who are away in the UK for the next 6 years. Jake, with his lovely voice, has been a regular chazzan at our shul and has even been known to run the kid's program occasionally to great acclaim. Your family will be dearly missed.
Jake and Andrea, as well as new parents Yael and Leon will be co-sponsoring this week's kiddush. The drasha will be given by Gabbi Sar Shalom.
It is also a special WIZO shabbat, and during the kiddush we will hear from Sue Katz and Elisheva Picker, WIZO Amit president. We would like to thank Elisheva for her generous donation of whiskey to the shul in honour of this special Shabbat.
Volunteers Needed: On November 17th at 10am, Shira are helping a wonderful organization called St Kilda Mums at 5 Vale St, St Kilda, sorting out donations of baby goods that can be recycled to those in need. We need SIX more volunteers who can definitely make it, so please RSVP to this email or on facebook to confirm your spot.
